What to do in Hong Kong?
- Shoppers Paradise: It has all the world-famous brand. There are a lot of shopping malls, department stores around the city.
- Fusion of cultures: Since there are a lot of international companies in Hong Kong, there is a big fusion of cultures. There is a mix of Western and Asian cultures, and you can experience traditional and modern life.
- International Cuisine: The cuisine is very diversified ranging from western cuisine to chinese cuisine.
- The nightlife in Hong Kong is fun. You can find a lot of places to have food, alcohol during the night. Most of the bars and other entertainment places usually open up until very late at night.
- You can visit that location where some of the most iconic movies were shot. Go to the Temple Street, Yau Ma Tei Fruit Market or Chung King Mansions to see the locations.
Some of the Most Popular Tourist Places in Hong Kong
- Star Ferry: You can take a boat ride along the river and you will be able to travel from Kwoloon to Hong Kong. The Ferry is open all day long, and the interval is very short, only a couple of minutes.
- Skylines: There are multiple places you can go to view the skyline of the magnificient city. In the harbor, you can take beautiful pictures of boats passing by with the citie's background of tall buildings and skyscrapers. Head over to the Star Ferry dock at night, to view the nightly show "A Symphony of Lights".
- Victoria Peak (The Peak): From the top, it gives the best view of the city from above. There is a lot of greenery and there are paths for hiking whether you want to hike from below to the top of from the top to the City. You can also go there during the night and you will be able to see the nightlife of Hong Kong.
- If you like street markets, head over to the Temple Street Night Market. They call it a night market, because it gets more active near 6PM. The vendors sells multiple things from gadgets, to bag, to jewelry and etc.
- For family fun, head over to the Hong Kong Disney Land which is located on hte Lantau Island. This Disney Land ressembles Western's Disney Land, you can find Fantasyland, Toy Story Land, Tomorrowland and etc. There are daily performances all around the park. Lots of fun and joy is awaiting for you.
- The Ocean Park (zoo) is another very popular Hong Kong attraction. You can view the old Hong Kong, go on roller coasters, visit the Grand Aquarium and look at some wild exotic wildlife. In the park, there is a long underwater tunnel (Reef Tunnel) and you will be able to see thousands of fish from under. You can also view the iconic animal of China, the pandas.
- For thos who likes to eat, go to the Lan Kwai Fong Streets. They're streets filled with the trendiest restaurants in Hong Kong. It is active during the day, but very active during the night as a lot of people come for dinner or for snacks. You can find cuisine from around the world such as Italian, Mexican, Indian and etc.
- One of the most iconic place on Hong Kong is the Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery located in Sha Tin. It offers a beautiful and peaceful escape from the nustle of the city. It is set on a hilltop and you have to climb a lot of stairs to reach the top. Once at the top, there is the main monastery building filled with impressive structures. Each statue is unique and none of them look alike.
- Another iconic figure of Hong Kong is Big Buddha. It is a 34 meter Buddha that sits on top of Lantau's Island in Po Lin Monastery. It is a fairly secluded place. It is one of the largest buddha structure in the world and it took 12 years to complete it. The surrounding environment is very beautiful as it is surrounded by a forest.
